Our number one desire for these Bible lessons are for them to be understandable, defendable, and most important for the Holy Spirit to bear witness that the conclusions are the true, and correct interpretation of the Holy Scriptures.
Guidelines for our Bible studies on this website:
1. We treat the living words of the living God as spoken by the Lord Jesus and given to the Apostle Paul for the Body of Christ the same importance, as the words of the Lord Jesus recorded in red letters in the books of Matthew – Acts Chp. 8, as what should be known as the instructions to the nation Israel.
2. We will not be wresting the scriptures against each other, we will look at the verses in their context, and will not try to make the scriptures say anything, but what they say.
3. We will be using the verses out of the Authorized Version, commonly known as the KJV. It is fine if you want to look the verses up in other translations if you like, but we will consider the Authorized Version as our final written authority.
4. We do not and will not use the Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, or Latin languages to prove any points, or give any indication that the Authorized Version has been incorrectly translated.
I hope these studies are interesting enough to provoke you to study your Bible, and for you to grow in the grace and knowledge of our savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul said in 2 Tim. Chp 2 verse [15] “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Recently I had a discussion with an individual who told me they don’t believe the Bible, that it’s just a book of fables. The individual said “come on a virgin birth, I believe Jesus was just a man, all religions are working towards the same end, many ways to get God. The Bible can’t be trusted, no way that it was translated correctly, etc.”
My response is always the same whether talking to a lost Christian, (Lost Christian = a person who doesn’t believe the Bible is the living words of the living God, a person who doesn’t believe that the living God was capable of preserving his words in a perfect translation, a person who doesn’t believe that Jesus Christ is the living God, a person who does not believe the miracles recorded in the Bible, refers to them as fables, in other words a non-believer), or a lost sinner, (Lost Sinner = same definition as a lost Christian), I know of no other religion that has the recorded words of their leader, that makes claims like are recorded in the Bible, and that Jesus Christ made.
Just to quote a few of the things that is recorded in the Bible about Jesus,
His virgin birth, death, resurrection, etc. was foretold by the Old Testament prophets, some over a thousand years before it happened.
Isaiah 7 (Virgin Birth foretold)
“[14] Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Matt. 1 (Virgin Birth Fulfilled)
“[22] Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, [23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Psalms 16 (Resurrection Foretold)
“[10] For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.”
Matt. 2 (Resurrection and Death Foretold by Jesus himself)
“[22] And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: [23] And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.”
Matt. 27 (Death completed)
[50] Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Luke 24 (Resurrection completed)
[18] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [39] Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. [40] And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. [41] And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? [42] And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. [43] And he took it, and did eat before them.
Notice that it is recorded that Jesus goes into detail to prove he was resurrected, in other words his dead body was now alive and well! He tells them behold his hands and feet, handle me he says a spirt doesn’t have flesh and bones! He goes further, and eats physical food, to prove that he was now, alive and well, after being killed!
Luke 24 “[44] And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”
Jesus takes credit for fulfilling all the things written in the Old Testament concerning the Jewish messiah that was to come.
As far as fables in the Bible, I can only assume after our brief discussion, that he was talking about things like the Earth being flooded, Noah building an Ark, or Aaron and Moses down in Egypt turning a wooden rod into a living serpent, splitting the Red Sea, or things like a Jackass talking, iron axe floating in water like wood, or Samson killing a lion bare handed, killing a thousand men with the Jaw bone of an ass, or David killing a lion, and bear, bare handed, or Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego delivered out of a fiery furnace, or Daniel delivered out of the lions den, or of course, Jonah taking a ride in the Whale’s belly just to mention a few, there are literally too many other items to mention this morning.
With all this said, in the end the Bible is either true, or it is full of nothing but lies and deceit!
I can tell you when asked about my belief in the Bible, and the Lord Jesus, I can only share with you what a Pastor shared years ago with his congregation, which I had the privilege to hear real time, “I know how I used to be, how I used to think, and after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, I know how I am now, how I think, and I am not the same person!”
I would share with you that Jesus Christ changed my life in that same fashion and not me only but many others I have had the pleasure of meeting all across this country.
I came to know Jesus in a real and personal way when I became a believer in Dec. 1973, 50 years ago.
I know how I was, how I used to think, and the things that were important to me, I like the Pastor, know that I am not the same person, Jesus made me new!
I have had no one, as of yet shake my faith or change my mind, I believe there is a living God, named Jesus, that died, was buried, and was raised again for the forgiveness of sins, which I choose to believe, no body made me believe it, I believe because I want to!
Like the lost sinner I witnessed too in a nursing home for months, telling him and pleading with him to trust Jesus as his savior. In the end one night when I asked him if he would like to receive Jesus as his savior, he replied that he had decided to just take his chances like he was.
If this is your attitude, I ask you to consider your end, this life is short and eternity is long, If the Bible is just a lie and Jesus a charlatan, and you are a non-believer, or lost Christian you have nothing to worry about, but if the Bible is true and Jesus is the Living God, you are at risk of losing everything important in this world, your own soul!
Matt.16 [26] For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
I urge you to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins.
Eph.3 “[17] That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,”
I would ask all my readers to consider all the things going on now in the world, with the wars raging, the upcoming food shortages, the breakdown of Law and Order, the out-of-control use of drugs, alcohol, etc., and the all-most complete destruction, and hate by the world, of the Christian faith!
I know that the Christians have been saying, that Jesus’s return is close for a long time, but in my life time, I have witnessed the majority of Christians, abandon the hope of the soon return of Jesus Christ, and the removal of the Body of Christ (the church of this current dispensation of “Grace”, not to be confused with the “Kingdom Church” that will be on planet Earth during the “Great Tribulation”) from planet Earth prior to the Great Tribulation period.
I believe that is just another sign of Jesus soon return, 2nd Peter 3 “[2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: [3] Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, [4] And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
At 22 years of age, I thought there was a good chance of Jesus coming back in my lifetime, at now at almost 73 years of age, I am even more convinced of witnessing that blessed hope of leaving planet Earth, when the Body of Christ is removed, prior to the Tribulation period!
I encourage those of you fellow believers, who still hold to sound doctrine, be strong in the faith, continue to witness, and share the good news of the death, burial, resurrection of the Lord Jesus with your family members, friends and acquaintances, and others that the Lord Jesus brings across your path, that some might be saved!
I talk to Christians all the time that are discouraged by the state of the Church, and lack of sound teaching, and sound doctrine, and love of the truth.
My word is don’t give up, but keep your eye on the end point, an eternity with the Lord Jesus where all things will be made right, and only joy and peace will be in your future.
If the Bible is true and Jesus Christ is the very creator of the heavens and earth, you heard me right the bible says of Jesus in Col.1 "[16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." Then the best thing you can do for yourself and the current planet Earth is trust him as your savior so you can enjoy the new heavens and earth that will be coming to us very soon!
1st Cor. 15 "[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

I am so thankful for the Preachers that were my mentors were Bible Believers and not bible correctors!
Satan is having a field day with the Body of Christ with all these modern-day preachers proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom with its earthly kingdom hope, repentance, confession of sins, and water baptism required to be saved or a member of a denomination, Miraculous signs as evidence of salvation, such as speaking in tongues and healing; Teaching the observance of the law, teaching the conditional forgiveness of sins based on forgiving others, teaching forsaking all and selling all to gain eternal life, Having the authority to forgive sins, Reaching Jerusalem and Israel first.
These things are simply incompatible with the truths found in the Pauline epistles, and the gospel of the grace of God. Even if you believe the Bible and you fail to understand the word of truth rightly divided you can still be misled, not lost just misled, and rendered a useless Christian witness.
We are saved not by our works, but by our faith in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus!
With modern day technology being what it is, it is very easy to do word searches and check when someone quotes a Bible verse or tells you something is in the Bible for you to look it up and verify if they are pulling your leg!
The Truth of God’s Holy word is easy to determine if you let the Holy Spirit lead you.
Remember all of the confusion among Christianity/Christians today can be attributed to the simple fact that the church, the Body of Christ, does not recognize the separate, distinct, and unique apostleship, ministry, and message of Paul.
If you have never trusted the Lord Jesus as your savior, I encourage you to believe in him and invite him to save you today! All one need do is to trust and believe in the Lord Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins to be made new in him.
Gal.2 [16] Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified
Eph.3 [17] That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, [19] And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
What a great day that will be when Jesus Christ returns in all his glory, friend don’t let that day take you unawares. Today Jesus has his arms outstretched and open to sinners to put their trust in him. One day we will all stand before him either as our savior or our judge, don’t put it off invite Jesus to save you today!
"The crowd that will not accept one truth will decay to the point that it does not accept one God: many denominations, many translations, many gods."
The words of our Apostle Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles!
